From the album Wozo – Songs of Resilience
1. Wayfaring stranger – Spiritual
I am a poor wayfaring stranger,
traveling through this world of woe.
There is no sickness, no toil nor danger,
in that bright world to which I go.
I'm goin' there to meet my father/mother/family.
I'm goin' there no more to roam.
I'm just a-goin' over Jordan.
I'm just a-goin' over home.
I know dark clouds will gather 'round me,
I know my way is rough and steep.
But beautiful fields lie just beyond me,
where weary eyes no more shall weep.
I'll soon be free from every trial.
This form will rest beneath the sod.
I'll drop the cross of self denial
and enter in my home with God.
